The idea for playing Gaelic Football with Subbuteo figures is something I thought about when I got my first Subbuteo set as a kid in the 80s. Once I started collecting Subbuteo again a few years ago, I came back to the idea once again. Although I didn't expect to actually play the game, I thought it would be a fun hobby to try to devise the rules for the Gaelic version.
It is only after conversations with other Subbuteo enthusiasts that I realised there is quite a bit of interest in this new take on table football. After recent conversations with players from TFAI and NITFA, the idea of playing regular games and possibly even tournaments has become a very real possibility.
it is important to note that, while I am trying to copy the game as accurately as possible, some alterations need to be made due to the physical limitations of the players. Full instructions for the game can be found in the forum at the link below. I welcome any suggestions other players may have to improve the playability of the game, so please leave your comments in the forum. Alternatively if you require a full printed copy of the rules, please feel free to contact me.
